GAFF. It stands for God Awful FanFiction. This dorum is dedicated to finding and mocking the very worst of the worst fanfiction.

So, how do you define GAFF? Well, I could say that you'll know it when you see it, but that wouldn't be very helpful, would it? No, GAFF isn't just bad fanfiction. It's not merely mediocre fanfiction that you can't read further than the first chapter because it's so dreadfully DULL. GAFF is fanfiction that disgusts you, that shames the writer, that insults the fandom it's written for. It makes you regret being a fan of that fandom.

It doesn't HAVE to be smutty. It doesn't HAVE to be badly spelt. It doesn't HAVE to have a terrible plot. It doesn't HAVE to rape a character's personality. What it DOES do is make you regret reading it. Not just in a "God I've wasted 20 minutes of my life" way either, but in a "I want to build a time machine and go back in time to tell my past self not to read it and then kill myself" way.

Oh, and one more thing. When you make a GAFF topic here, I'd appreciate it if you could make the topic with something a little more than "I found this fanfic and it sucks ASS! Link here." Try giving some constructive criticism. Yes, I know the rules say you can swear and bitch, but you'll look a lot smarter if you do Constructive Criticism instead.

Now, I'm going to give you a few examples to get started. I'm in a bit of a hurry right now, so they woun't be the best reviews, so, when you find something bad enough, try to best me, huh?

"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster... when you gaze long into the abyss the abyss also gazes into you... ” — Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil

"Insanity is not an excuse, it is merely an explanation, and I don't have to explain myself to you." - Hotwire
